I am a freelance writer and photojournalist based in Denver, Colorado. My Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I majored in broadcast journalism.

My background in broadcasting involved reporting and writing hard news copy for both TV and radio, in addition to script writing for North Carolina Public Television. Eventually I found my calling in the editorial world as a features reporter and copy editor. Recently I’ve spread my wings as a freelancer and love it–it gives me the freedom to work with different editors and write about a broad range of subject matter.

My other interests include distance running, environmentalism, the arts, videography, and traveling. In addition to being a journalist, I am the proud owner of Magic Carpet Travel Club.
